Meetings/Forums

Meeting with other local groups is helpful - you make contacts and gain ideas and find ways to solve problems, maybe even deciding to work with another group (if you need help with partnership working, go to our Collaboration page).

We organise a number of regular meetings, which we describe below.

For the dates of the meetings of these forums, please see our Events pages.

Criminal Justice Forum

This takes place three times a year, organised jointly with Bournemouth CVS and Dorset Community Action. The forum is open to all voluntary sector organisations providing services in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. The Criminal Justice Forum aims to ensure the effective involvement of the voluntary and community sector in all aspects of the planning, development and delivery of services to reduce crime and prevent re-offending. If you would like to attend these meetings, please contact Romany Ross.

Diversity and Equality Forum

This takes place three times a year, organised by the Dorset Race Equality Council (DREC). It is a point of contact between our sector and the statutory sector on diversity and equality issues, as well as a forum to work for the common good on such issues. See DREC's website for further information.

Health and Wellbeing Forum

This takes place three times a year, organised jointly with Bournemouth CVS. The forum is open to all voluntary sector organisations providing health and well-being services in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. If you would like to attend these meetings, please contact Romany Ross.

Poole Children and Young People's Forum

This forum is a way for voluntary and community sector organisations to get together to discuss topics relevant to children and young people. A variety of topics is covered, including the Children's Plan for Poole, key local outcomes, commissioning and funding, safeguarding issues, training and workforce development and lots of other policy issues. If you would like to attend these meetings, please contact Romany Ross.

Poole CVS AGM

We hold an Annual General Meeting, as set down in our Constitution. At this we brief our members on what we have been doing over the year. We also allow time for networking so you can talk to each other.

Tendering Network Forum

This takes place three times a year, organised jointly with Bournemouth CVS. The forum is open to all voluntary sector organisations providing services in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. If you would like to attend these meetings, please contact Romany Ross.

Voluntary Sector Conference

This annual conference allows people from the voluntary sector in Bournemouth and Poole to come together, hear a speaker, join in consultations and network.

Volunteering Co-ordinators' Meetings

Volunteer Co-ordinators' Meetings. We hold meetings six times a year for people whose job it is to co-ordinate the volunteers within their organisations. These include presentations on useful topics and the chance to share ideas and problems with others doing the same job.
