Welcome to Poole CVS

If you are a charity, a voluntary group or a community group working in Poole, we are here to help you.

About us

Poole CVS works in partnership with Bournemouth CVS and Dorset Race Equality Council.

We offer a range of services including:

  • Funding advice
  • Advice on running your organisation
  • Help with finding volunteers

Please note: we can only help groups, not individuals.

We run a Volunteer Centre, which brings together people seeking volunteering opportunities with charities, voluntary and statutory organisations seeking help. You can also see the list of volunteering opportunities here.

Being a member of Poole CVS does not automatically register you for volunteers: you will need to fill in a couple of forms to give the volunteer centre some information about your organisation and your volunteer opportunities.

Public Health Dorset is planning to create a single point of access for health improvement services in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset – services such as e.g. weight management, physical activity, alcohol misuse and stop smoking.

The proposed Dorset-wide hub will have a single contact number for people wanting to make changes to their lifestyle. The hub will be staffed by people skilled at understanding and motivating people to make those changes .

The first potential provider event for the hub was held, in June, in Bournemouth and the plans received positive feedback. A second event for providers will be held in September.

Public Health Dorset is looking for views from residents to help shape the plans for this service and how best to tailor the service to meet the needs of local people. Anyone wishing to have their say can complete a short online survey. Responses are confidential and will be used only in the development of this service.
